Look! It's finally here - my favourite season :)

After weeks of excruciatingly hot and drier than dry desert winds plaguing L.A., today the heat finally broke. I felt so invigorated by the cool weather that I got a whole bunch of previously neglected stuff done - piles and piles of laundry folded, that wall shelf I have been meaning to hang for like a year is now up in all its glory, even the fridge got a thorough overhaul!! And this afternoon Noah and I took a long, nice walk with Moses; fugly Halloween decorations notwithstanding, our little corner of the city looked just gorgeous in the crisp, clear air.
So yes, please bring on the woolly socks and warm jumpers, the mulled wine and hot chocolate and pumpkin flavoured everything, give me bonfires, new leather boots and stormy nights - I am ready for all the cliches...

Not so dirty pigs

Speaking of cows, please indulge me while I linger on the subject [of farm animals] a little longer;
A friend shared this glorious photo collage with accompanying article on Facebook showing pigs living it up at an animal sanctuary. Apparently, pigs are sociable, playful and extremely intelligent. They are known to dream and can recognise their own names and are also said to be cleanly animals that love to sunbathe! Fascinating.

Pork chops and bacon suddenly seem very unappetizing indeed...(!)

 Preluded by a four year engagement and sinful cohabitation :) and one year of intermittent long distance "dating", it is precisely nine years today since yours truly entered into a life of wedded bliss and officially became Mrs Sean O.  - Surely this calls for a celebratory selfie!?

... And with that it's time to join my better half in front if the fireplace (yes) where according to tradition we'll look through our wedding album and reminisce while polishing off a bottle o bubbly. (Hey, I never claimed we were particularly cool ;)  Cheers!

Until the cows come home

You know the idiom of course... Well, when "home" happens to be in Hollywood, CA this does indeed seem an unlikely, if ever, occurrence.

And then one day... Whaddayaknow?!*

Out for our regular neighbourhood walk with Moses, the four of us were strolling along, minding our own business when suddenly we see this cowboy - hat and all - walking straight towards us with, yes, his cow! There was even a bonus one waiting in a cattle transport parked along the street and when the two animals spotted each other they mooooooed their greetings loud enough for the whole world to hear. Needless to say Noah's joy and awe were complete.

* "They" were shooting an elaborate looking commercial in the front yard of a nearby house, involving children, a ginormous bouncy castle as well as those cows... Got Milk? (!)
