My "garden clogs" with hand painted flowers. All (well, most) Swedish girls own a pair.
I had in all honesty written off the current clog trend (even though it was championed by Chanel). Thinking that clogs were clunky, ugly and rather pedestrian; one of those silly fads that would recede as quickly as it rose. "I will certainly not fall victim to this," I scoffed. Furthermore, I felt that they {clogs} were retro in an uncool sort of way; like scrunchies or fleece - the kind of object that belonged firmly to my fashion past. (I grew up in Sweden, where - at least during the early eighties - clogs were de rigueur.)
The exception? The classic handmade ones that I keep solely for garden use.
But then, I saw this on A Cup of Jo...
And I changed my mind.
...Now, I'm thinking that I could totally use a pair of cool, cute clogs this summer! Funny, that. So I headed out on the web for a spot of clog-browsing: Among my many many finds, the four styles below eventually emerged as the most serious contenders and worthy of my new found Clog Love. ♥
I'm particularly into the Derek Lam ones (definitely the least "cloggy" of the bunch) ...What's more - they're navy and not black. Love that.

Haha - I felt the same about clogs but have also come around. I guess extended exposure can have that effect!

Clogs are SO NOISY!
When I was living in an open plan loft with wooden floors, my best (ha!) friend brought my children clogs from a business trip to Amsterdam.
I can't look at them since. But I have forgiven her.
Hahaha..I felt the same way....and then I saw that photo and she looks so great in them!
How funny...They are noisy but very cute too :)
Kisses and have a great Thursday!
Oh no! I really, really didn't think I'd ever wanted them again (had some when I was a kid), but now - thanks to your post - I want some!!! How did that happen?! Thanks for the inspiration ;-) Love from London x
I love clogs..oddly enough I am drawn to those from UGG! :)

NEW FOLLOWER :D
Love those Ugg clogs, it looks like they're black suede? I used to have a pair of Chanel Dr. Scholl's! This was back in, oh let's say 2002, if anyone could make a Dr. Scholl's clog elegant, it was Chanel! I really wish I still had them, those and the black patent Chanel riding boots went the way of eBay - boo!
ahhh- clogs! i had a pair that at least FELT like high heels when i was in first grade. red. suede. and i wore them to pieces.
my mom found me a pair of red suede clogs years ago as a replacement.
i like the ones w/ hand painted flowers...did you do the painting? great idea...
i don't think i can do it! although i like the last to pairs. and i have some wooden heeled wedges, so it is not like i am THAT far off! ahhahaha. sometimes it takes a while for me to jump on board!
I have used clogs, but had a hard time walking on them! Am I the only one? In any case, I love the hand-painted pair you own!
she is quite darling.
Hi Emelie, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments. Love your fabulous clogs, I'm sure they are fun to wear in the garden and they look great on display. I want a pair like yours. I will most certainly be back to visit you again here at your gorgeous blog home. Best wishes, Carla. :)
I think I have to stick with the more classic clog.... but maybe it's the model who has long legs and would look good in anything... I did love my clogs and wore them when they were in fashion the first time around!
