Pretty much everything is a first when you're only a week old. Yesterday we ventured beyond our apartment for a few short outings to introduce Noah to the outside world. Here's some of what he got up to...

He watched his first sunset over the Pacific...

...but it was chilly out so he stayed snuggled up in his cozy blanket from emily street the whole time.
(Thanks again Lizzie, it's already a favourite!)

...Paid his first visit to Starbucks, where I had my first post-partum-latte.
 Perhaps my best ever.

He also had his first stroll down our street ...

...whilst taking his first snooze in the pram.

My Funny Valentine

...Turns out not all members of my family are late comers after all. - At least not the newest one. :)

Noah James Stanfield-Olcott (yes, we're hoping he'll become an author) arrived in timely fashion on Monday February 14th 2011.  (Although not before making his mama work hard for seventeen hours!)  It was at precisely 23.03 pm that he uttered his first darling little cry, weighing in at a substantial 8lb 4.5oz (3755kg) and 20.5in (52.5cm). After three nights at Cedar Sinai we got home on Thursday and so far Noah is doing great; he eats, sleeps, and you-know-what when he's supposed to so the first few days at home have been pretty blissful (if not super restful).

...Do I need to tell you we're in love? To quote a friend, ( Hi Heidi :) this has been/is "THE BEST THING EVER."

I'll be back soon with updates and a slightly more detailed birth story for those of you who would like to know... But for now, I've got a baby to tend to!

PS. Thanks to everyone who's been checking in over the past couple of weeks, be it here on the blog, via email,  facebook etc. You are all great and special friends to us and it has been so nice to know we've been in your thoughts. ♥

Playing peek-a-boo after breakfast.

Please excuse the milk mustache...

Chillin' with my daddy.

Ok, I think it works now...

I've re-posted the video of Moses, so if you couldn't see it before, you should be able to now!

Hope you are all having a good week so far? We've been having the loveliest weather here in L.A. lately and I'm trying to enjoy the last few days of solitude and relative quiet while they last (as opposed to spending every waking moment aching for the baby to show his little face. :)

Below are some pictures from a couple of recent beach walks, as well as an extraordinary double rainbow outside our window in December...

Work it baby!

Not long until spring now... Have you noticed the days lasting a little longer already?

The Howling

Nope, not the oddly kitch 80s horror movie about werewolves, but rather a little video of one of Moses "performances"... Because howl by the window is what he does, every single time he hears a siren outside. He takes it all very seriously, like it's an important duty he was specially chosen to carry out. Sometimes he joins in simultaneously with the sirens - forming a chorus, sometimes he waits until they have passed and then responds. We think he thinks they [the fire squad] are is his long lost pack.
And we think it's adorable. :)

Oh yes, and no baby yet...
