I'm sorry, I know this is a little - ahem ... risque - but also quite funny, yes?

Have a great weekend all! xo

Family Portrait

Many people hire a professional photographer to capture their happy "whole-ness" after introducing a new baby into the mix. Usually, this involves a sophisticated studio or a beach and (almost always!) synchronized white clothing...  Well, not us. We gather early on a Wednesday morning for a quick snapshot of our collective reflection in the home-office mirror. Below are the elegant results, shower hair and all.

Monday Morning Jam Session

This [music] video is so long it's practically a feature film.

...Noticed the guitar-printed PJ's? Yup, it's all very rock n roll around here.

Happy Weekend! xo

A baby, a Dog and a couple of Ducks

"Slow down, honey!"

[Private Images]

Spring has sprung here in LA and so to enjoy it fully this last weekend, we brought Noah into the wild.

Growing up in the country with a true nature-loving mother meant I spent a lot of time "exploring" the woods as a child... Happy memories, and it's nice to know that in spite of having chosen a life among the manicured lawns and flower-beds-on-steroids in Beverly Hills, I can give my own kid similarly wholesome experiences simply by driving a few minutes into the nearby canyons. The "nature gene" - that clearly skipped a generation - is most definitely blossoming (see what I did there?! ;) in Noah; He loves the outdoors and will inevitably point his little finger, exclaiming "titta!" ["look!"] at the sight of every growing tree, bush or weed he manages to spy from his stroller... With the possible exception of dogs, flowers are currently the most exciting things in his entire one-year-old world. :)

So yes, he (and Moses) had a good ol' time in Franklin Canyon Sunday afternoon, - especially when it transpired that there was a real, live duck couple grazing by the lake! (We didn't tell either of them about the mountain lions, rattle snakes and coyotes that also reside nearby, figuring those little facts would be better saved for a later date...)

Half the week over with already! - Hope it started well and that the sun shines wherever you are... xo

My loving, caring, independent, stylish, easygoing, artistic, genuine, fun, beautiful mother turns 60 today... It's kind of crazy - I mean, I can remember when she was 35! :) I know a lot of people say this about their moms, but she really IS the best and even though we talk on the phone every week, I miss her all the time.
Happy happy, birthday Mamma - I so wish we could be in Sweden and celebrate with you today.

Natural Art

A friend recently linked to this art agency on Facebook. These concepts and images are just magnificent and made me so happy I simply had to share...

"A gallery with no sculptures, only a cloud floating within the space.
'Nimbus' is a new installation of Amsterdam-based artist Berndnaut Smilde,
who refuses to explain how he managed to create a real cloud."

"Japan photographer Tsuneaki Hiramatsu 'catches' japanese fireflies
with time-lapse photos during the night."

"A Path in the Forest" by Tetsuo Kondo Architects.
"The bridge of the many oddities is set in the woods in the
Kadriorg Park in Tallinnand set it so that people can admire the
trees at the level of several meters above the ground.
The 95-metre trail is supported by a steel tube that rests
against the tree trunks with no additional columns."

Hope you had a lovely weekend? The weather in L.A. took a crazy turn with temperatures suddenly reaching 30C! We spring cleaned the apartment and went shopping on Saturday, but made up for it by attending (another) one year old's birthday party in a park today.
A happy surprise; the music teacher (that Noah has a major crush on :) from our World Citizen Baby class was there providing entertainment for all the little guests. She brought her flute, guitar, maracas and best of all - her giant bongo drum! Noah was in heaven...

He and his girlfriend later volunteered as bartenders...

Oh and at the end of the day he drove us home...

Suffice to say someone will be sleeping like a baby tonight. :)
